Greetings everybody...
First of all,let me introduce myself.. I'm Dimitris aka Aravas18 on EBay... I'm a relatively new seller on eBay... but i like it.. As a matter of a fact.. I'm REALLY addicted to Selling on EBAY..
I'm half Greek, half Jordanian.. i was born in Greece...i grew up in Jordan and since i was 18 i decided to move to Greece where i live today..unfortunately.Why?
Greece is going through a really hard economic crisis for the last 4 years now,- who's fault is it?maybe I'll blog about it another time.- and a result of this crisis i lost my job 2 years ago and since then.. nothing.
I kept searching and searching but things are really tough here that i couldn't find anything.
So i decided to try and see what i can do on line..EBAY..
I started selling on eBay last July.. i wanted to know if this really works.. and if it does,How does it work? so i started searching my house for stuff i could sell.. but i really had nothing that i thought it would sell but a small collection of coins and tokens that i had.
The first coin that i listed was a token known here as "Vasilopita" coin.
Vasilopita is a pie baked here in Greece traditionally in every house at new year. When the pie is baked this coin or token is placed in it. and at the first minutes of the new year the pie gets cut into pieces for the members of the family.
Tradition says who ever finds the coin in his piece he or she will be the lucky one for this year!
So back to the listing.. i listed it really not believing that it will ever sell.. i listed in in an auction with a starting price of 0.99$
Days passed by and i got my first bid on the third day of the listing..and guess what..at the end of the listing the Vasilopita coin sold for the amount of 14$!
I couldn't believe it!that's how i actually got the eBay virus.. lol.
So i started listing every single coin i had, some sold, some didn't.then i tried other "collectibles" stamps, phone cards , post cards etc... and i kept listing and selling.. until this day.
Anyway enough for today..
In my next blog posts i will tell you more on what i am doing on ebay, i will tell you some of my thoughts on selling on eBay and anything else that i think you might find interesting
Stay tuned!
